Pastel-coloured Art Deco houses, a warm sea in winter and Cuban coffee – Miami is Europe's favourite city in Florida.

In winter, Miami is what the Canaries are for Europe – only with more style. From December to April it's dry and warm, the sea is 24 degrees and South Beach is full of life. In summer it's humid with daily thunderstorms, and from August the hurricane season looms.
I stayed at the Shore Club right on the beach in South Beach – the hotel page tells the story. Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue are within walking distance, and in the evening you sit in the Art Deco hotels over a mojito. Little Havana and the street-art district of Wynwood are ten minutes away by taxi.
Miami is also the starting point for the Keys and the Everglades – both are on the Florida page. And if you're planning a Caribbean cruise, it usually starts here: the port is the largest cruise port in the world.
South Beach between 5th and 20th Street for the experience; Mid-Beach (Collins Avenue 30–50) quieter and with better beaches; Downtown and Brickell for business travellers.
Hotels I know myself and describe on their own pages: Shore Club Miami Beach.
I almost always compare hotels, apartments and guesthouses on Booking.com – with genuine reviews and usually free cancellation.
