Two nights are enough – but you should experience them. Las Vegas is loud, garish and, in its own way, magnificent.

For me, Las Vegas was a stopover on the California road trip, and that's exactly how I'd do it again: two nights, a show, an evening on the Strip, then move on. The hotels are astonishingly cheap for their size, because the money is made in the casinos.
I stayed at the Venetian – canals with gondolas, suites with a living area, right in the middle of the Strip. The hotel page describes it. From there everything is within walking distance, even if the distances on the Strip are deceptive: one hotel block is often a kilometre.
The real reason for Las Vegas is the surroundings: Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon are all day trips. If you have the time, carry on to Zion and Bryce Canyon in Utah.
Right in the middle of the Strip, otherwise you're forever in a taxi. Venetian, Bellagio or Wynn for comfort; Flamingo or Linq for the budget.
Hotels I know myself and describe on their own pages: The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
I almost always compare hotels, apartments and guesthouses on Booking.com – with genuine reviews and usually free cancellation.
